In my mixed media paintings and collages I have been analyzing the aesthetics of human experience. Emotions are captured through thin, transparent tiers of paint where layers are able to organize and unveil themselves. My work attempts to recreate the patterns and rhythms of life through scattered pieces of ephemera, found objects and collage. All are brought together, filling the elliptic canvas, making it whole. Intent often loses itself; thoughts become chameleonesque as they disappear and reappear through each veil, only to bury themselves once again. My art is a response to a soulful reflection upon myself. I only paint what I value. My hope is that my art will provide a way to communicate, to relate and to transform. |
