"If only I had been there I could have saved her." This is the "if only" phase. If only... Just before my mother's passing I had taken a course and been certified in CPR and First Aid. For the longest time I felt guilty for not being there...if I had been maybe I could have saved her. Or perhaps if I had been a better daughter she wouldn't have been so stressed. If I had helped out more... It took a long time for me to realize there wasn't anything I could do to prevent this from happening, that it was completely out of my hands. |
